Before Stilwell Hall American Legion Post 512 Carmel was
serving veterans from WWI and as a USO Club during WWII

This photo taken in 1942 was when American Legion Post 512 Carmel was being used as an USO Club for enlisted personnel.  The 'unofficial' Officers hang-out was the original Mission Ranch which was on the far end of town at the mouth of the Carmel Valley.                                       (Photo courtesy of Carmel Centennial Committee)
